The Wright library first opened its doors to the community in September, 1925, as the second library branch in Oklahoma City, and the first with its own building. The library initially served the area known as "Packingtown," and featured a small but rapidly growing collection of items in both English and Spanish.
In the ensuing hundred years, the library has sparked a love of reading and learning in generations of Oklahoma City residents and cultivated long-standing relationships with the Stockyards City community. We look ahead to the next century by rechristening the library with a name that both reflects our values as an organization, and the geographic location that the library has called home for 100 years.
Join us in celebrating the vibrant Stockyards City Library's Centennial Ceremony!
