It's fall migration season! Join us as we come together to observe Oklahoma's birds, bugs, amphibians and reptiles in the wild at South Lakes Park and get to know people who share a similar interest. Discover new techniques and perspectives as we meet with others to learn about their experiences while sharing your own. Attend one, two, or more of these informal outings with local birder, wildlife enthusiast, and librarian, Matti, who will lead attendees into the world of amateur bird watching, bug spotting, and reptile observing. Whether you want to learn something new for your leisurely walks or want to know more about our wild friends, come learn more about this low-barrier-to-entry hobby enjoyed by millions around the world! We'll be starting off from the second parking lot (Google Maps link) and walking on the 1.3 mile paved South Lakes Park Loop trail (AllTrails link). The loop takes about 45 minutes to complete. Feel free to join us or depart at any point on the trail. We will arrive back to the parking lot at approximately 9:30am to pick up anyone who wishes us to join us on the second loop. Please bring any materials to help support your experience and comfort. We suggest bringing the following: Limited binoculars and field guides will be provided. Registration appreciated, but not required.
