The bank opened for business in Oklahoma City on October 2, 2006, by First Liberty Bank's founders, coaching legend Barry Switzer, country music star Toby Keith, Norman business leader Hunter Miller and the First Liberty Bank President and CEO Joey Root.
The bank added a mortgage department in 2016, a second branch opened in Norman in 2018, and a Loan Production Office (LPO) was added in Frisco, Texas, to serve the Dallas/Fort Worth area in January 2023.
