Jun 7    Changing Tax Legislation in the Biden Budget by Eide Bailly

While new credits, changes in international taxation and possible tax increases have long been subject to be part of the Biden administration’s legislative goals, specific details are not available.  In late May, the president’s budget is scheduled to be released. At that time the “Treasury Green Book,” a detailed description of the tax proposals included in the budget, is also expected. Issues including proposed effective dates, cut-off and phase-in amounts for rate increases and the application of the proposals in more complicated situations are expected to be addressed.

Eide Bailly’s tax legislation team will examine this new information, explore the potential impact it could have on individuals and businesses, and discuss how it may influence future legislation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review President Biden’s tax proposals in light of the additional details in the “Treasury Green Book.”
  • Identify potential impacts on individuals and businesses.
  • Outline what comes next.
  • Discuss how to prepare for potential changes.

Jun 21    Estate & Gift Tax Planning Changes by Eide Bailly

Join us to hear about the proposed “For the 99.5 Percent Act” and the anticipated infrastructure bill in Congress. The new legislation could include changes to the current federal estate and gift tax rules and address grandfathering provisions. While planning is always important, planning in times of new tax legislation is both challenging and vital to saving money and allocating resources appropriately. Reviewing your estate documents to determine what, if any, changes are needed due to the proposed legislation is an important first step.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review proposed estate and gift tax legislation
  • Identify potential planning opportunities
  • Outline possible next steps to protect your estate

In the book, Chip Heath & Dan Heath encourage us to reflect on the moments that shape us as individuals and how those moments weave together to create the timeline of our lives.
