Sep 21    Applications Due for Teen Board 2020-20201 "River Protectors" by OKC Beautiful
Do you know a teen who would be an excellent candidate for our 2020-2021 Teen Board? Are they a leader in their school and community? Are they passionate about the environment? Encourage them to apply!

This year we will be recruiting a small, but select group of 12-15 teens to participate in the "River Protectors" initiative. In partnership with Riversport OKC, Teen Board members will become certified "River Protector" experts. They will hear from various community leaders about how waterway litter effects tourism, the economy, wildlife, the ecosystem, and more. Each meeting will also incorporate a waterway cleanup where members will be asked to document and pick up litter at one of the following locations: Oklahoma River, Lake Hefner, or Lake Overholser. Teen Board River Protectors will truly become advocates and experts in the area of waterway litter and how it negatively effects our economic and environmental resources.
