A Write-In is a time and place for people to gather together and work on these fledgling novels, with a few encouragement tricks such as word sprints (who can write the most in a short period of time?) and inspiring prompts. We're ready to write--are you?

Constance will present from her new book Live From Medicine Park which, as the title suggests, is set in Oklahoma! Constance Squires is the award-winning author of Along the Watchtower: A Novel and Wounding Radius and Other Stories. Her numerous short stories have appeared in Guernica, Shenandoah, Atlantic Monthly, and other magazines. She teaches creative writing at the University of Central Oklahoma. Her newest novel, Live From Medicine Park, is an ode to both southwestern Oklahoma and rock music. It is a bittersweet reflection on the search for identity and purpose amid tragedy.

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation is awarding grants through our Parks & Public Space Initiative/Margaret Annis Boys Trust to assist in the activation of parks, trails and school parks in the Oklahoma City area. Eligible projects and programs must demonstrate benefits to and collaboration with the surrounding community and include a plan for sustainability.
