Donna Cervantes at (405) 632-0133Join the fun at the 13th Annual Fiestas de Las Americas an all day, multicultural celebration during Hispanic Heritage month in the Capitol Hill District (near Southwest 25th Street and South Harvey). The day starts with the colorful Parade of the Americas from Capitol Hill High School north on Walker to Southwest 25th Street. and ending at Capitol Hill Elementary. The Parade Grand Marshals will be Rosa King and Randy Quiroga-King, founders of El Nacional Media, a family-owned and operated company serving the Hispanic community since 1988. New this year is the Travel the Americas! exhibit. Local cultural groups will showcase unique aspects of the country they represent, helping kids and parents learn first-hand about the diverse cultures in Latin America To add to the fun, kids will receive a “Passport” to collect a sticker representing each “Country” and can enter a raffle for prizes.
